80 transporters arrested for SOP violations in Karachi

KARACHI: As many as 80 drivers have been arrested and 50 challans issued in Karachi throughout a crackdown on these violating the Sindh authorities’s customary working procedures (SOPs) pertaining to public transport, revealed Sindh Transport and Mass Transit Minister Awais Qadir Shah on Saturday.

Other than the metropolis, operations have been additionally carried out in opposition to the violators in Hyderabad, Shikarpur, Badin, Sukkur, Larkana, Naushero Feroze and Khairpur, amongst different cities.

Shah added that 37 buses, vans, coaches and taxis have been impounded by the police, whereas the overall penalties issued to 91 passenger buses within the province amounted to Rs77,300.

He additionally disclosed that show-causes notices have been issued to 6 regional secretaries for his or her inefficient efficiency.
