Political events have agreed on deploying Pakistan Military troops at polling stations for the July 25 Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Meeting election, reported Wednesday.
The publication mentioned the choice was taken with the heads of all political events current at a high-level assembly of the Election Fee, with AJK Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Justice (retd) Abdul Rashid Sulehria within the chair.
The contributors of the assembly had advised to the AJK Election Fee that the deployment of the military be accomplished at polling stations to keep up regulation and order on polling day.
Talking on the event, the CEC urged the heads of the political events to make sure the implementation of the code of conduct introduced by the election fee and make sure the peaceable conduct of the election.
A member of the election fee, Farhat Ali Mir, mentioned that the aim of the consultative assembly with the heads of political events was to hunt their opinion concerning the deployment of the military.
He added that the election fee had thus far taken strict motion towards the violations of the code of conduct.
