Colin Cantwell, the person who designed the spacecraft within the Star Wars movies, has died. He was 90.

The Hollywood Reporter reported Sunday that Sierra Dall, Cantwell’s accomplice, confirmed that he died at his dwelling in Colorado on Saturday.

Cantwell designed the prototypes for the X-wing Starfighter, TIE fighter and Dying Star.

He additionally labored on movies together with 2001: A House Odyssey, Shut Encounters of the Third Variety and WarGames.

Cantwell was born in San Francisco in 1932. Earlier than engaged on Hollywood movies, Cantwell attended the College of California, Los Angeles, the place he bought a level in animation. He additionally attended Frank Lloyd Wright’s College of Structure.
