The Nationwide Electrical Energy Regulatory Authority (Nepra) has authorised one other hike in electrical energy tariff by Rs0.51 per unit.
The federal authorities had requested the Nepra to inform 51 paisa per unit further cost from all KE’s shoppers with impact from November to January 2023.
“Such adjustment shall be applicable on the consumption of September, October and November of 2022 to be recovered from consumers in November, December and January 2023”, the Energy Division earlier instructed Nepra.
“Total per unit quarterly adjustment has been assessed Rs. 3.55, while Rs0.51 per unit passed on consumers, while Rs 3.04 subsidy will be paid from the state exchequer,” Nepra said.
The federal government offering Rs 291 billion annual subsidy to Karachi shoppers, the facility regulator stated.
Below the Nationwide Electrical energy Coverage 2021, the federal government might keep a uniform consumer-end tariff for Ok-Electrical and state-owned energy distribution corporations.
