Lately, Syed Shaheer Ali, a Karachiite, shared a chilling account of being adopted and harassed by a gaggle of males contained in the Karachi College (KU) campus.
He wrote about how the harassers on bikes chased him and his associates, demanding they hand over their feminine pal; all contained in the college premises.
“As we ran and reached near the boys’ hostel, they came again and surrounded us forcing me to stop the car. That’s when they came to the car’s window banging and screaming “Larki ko bahar nikaal, gaari roukk, bahar aa” (Get the woman out, cease the automobile, get out), he recounted.
Whereas one can’t fathom the gravity of the implications that may have adopted if the harassers had managed to meet up with Ali, many on Twitter condemned the incident, exhausting their calls for for security, but once more:
The youth is fearful
Ladies’s security can’t wait
Some recalled their very own experiences
Others raised questions on competence and compliance
Fast motion was demanded
Punish the culprits, they stated
