The president maintained that the month of Ramazan teaches Muslims to grasp the difficulties and sufferings confronted by the poor phase of society.
He added that the complete world is struggling amid the coronavirus outbreak and urged the nation to undertake precautionary measures, preserve social distancing and pursue the values of affection, sacrifice and piousness throughout this difficult interval.

“We as a nation have been elite-centric in our policies, with no thought for these people, incl in the pandemic,” he wrote.
He stated the lockdown has affected the day by day wage earners, road distributors, labourers and the nation should carry the marginalised residents out of poverty.
“Let us also resolve as a nation, in this holy month of Ramazan, to lift our marginalised citizens out of poverty & mainstream them as our Prophet PBUH did in the world’s first welfare state – Riyasat-i- Madina – and as China has done in lifting 700 m people out of poverty,” he added.
