Punjabi folks singer Loonaywala dies on the age of 64

Legendary Seraiki and Punjabi folks singer Allah Ditta Loonaywala died from a coronary heart assault in his native city in Chiniot district late on Monday. He was 64.

Allah Ditta was born in 1957 in village Loonaywala that he used together with his identify when he began singing.

In line with Dr Amjad Parvez, he received early music classes from Mian Issa Khan, a classical music instructor in Okara, and his son Mian Talib Hussain.

He began singing early in his life when he was at school. In one in all his interviews, Loonaywala mentioned he was first recorded by Jhang Gramophone, adopted by Rehmat Gramophone of Faisalabad.

He’s survived by three sons and two daughters. Of them, Zaheer Abbas is a programme producer at Radio Pakistan, Lahore, and the youngest son, Nadeem Abbas, is a profitable folks singer like his father.

Loonaywala’s well-known songs are ‘Shaaman Pei Gaeyaan’, ‘Ticketaan Do Lei Lei’ and ‘Main Cham Cham Nachdi Phiraan’.

He has sung Punjabi Dastaans too, together with Sassi. He additionally made a reputation in narration and singing of the story of Karbala.

He was conferred upon with the President of Pakistan’s award ‘Pride of Performance’.
