KARACHI: A landlord’s sons allegedly beat up a lady and shaved her head earlier than setting her home on fireplace in Thorhi Bijar village, Qambar-Shahdadkot district, on Wednesday.
The incident reportedly came about within the jurisdiction of Drigh police after a petty dispute over a pigeon flying competitors.
In response to the police, two youngsters – one the son of a poor farmer and the opposite the son of a landlord – brawled over the competition. The enraged sons and nephews of the owner, Fazal Muhammad, beat up the farmer’s spouse, who had tried to intervene.
Talking to the native media, the lady, Kamalan, mentioned that round six or seven males barged into her home to take cash from her son. “When I stood up, they beat me black and blue and shaved my head to teach my family a lesson,” she said. “Leaving the house, they set it on fire too.”
A video of her assertion went viral, with human and girls’s rights activists bringing the difficulty to the discover of Sindh police chief Mushtaq Mahar and Larkana DIG Irfan Baloch. Reaching the spot, Qambar-Shahdadkot SSP Imran Qureshi ordered an FIR to be registered towards the culprits.
“This was an inhumane incident. We have arrested one of the accused and the others will be behind bars soon too,” he mentioned.
Nonetheless, Kamalan’s household has expressed issues over the fondness of the SHO, who reportedly has shut relations with Muhammad and his household.
“The SHO frequently visits them and we have no trust in him,” mentioned Manzoor, Kamalan’s husband, including that the owner’s household was threatening them with dire penalties.
“When my wife went to the police with her shaved hair in her hand, the SHO refused to listen. He only registered the case after the SSP’s visit,” he claimed, interesting for the case to be transferred to a different officer.
